About the work
Internal Visions was created in the summer of 2020 when the world was coming to terms with the suffering brought on by the pandemic, and feeling the effects of extended uncertainty. Though the series began as an abstract expression of color and light, it is deeply connected to that collective moment when many of us were profoundly confronted with our internal worlds, our demons, our own suffering. In this series of six works, Kersh reflects on the active process of transformative healing. With enough time, openness, and a softening of the ego, we have the capacity to change our perceptions. Kersh shows a progression of emotion across time that moves from tumultuous, unilluminated, and hidden, to something that is clear and inviting; an evolution from suffering to peace.
